Kitchen Remodel Reveal
When Brandt and I bought this house, we loved that the kitchen was a really great size-- but the layout was way weird. The previous owners has essentially just added kitchen cabinets from another kitchen to one side of the kitchen (so you had another space for an oven, microwave, etc.). Weird, right?! So, we talked to my dad (who is a contractor out of Houston-- Cahal Construction if you're interested!) and he was able to help us with the layout and install. So, here's how it turned out!
Details/Links
Cabinets: J&K Cabinetry style H09 Pearl Maple Glaze. This is a prefab cabinet place that has multiple locations in the US. They will help you with the design/layout and have pretty much everything you need to build out your cabinets. These are solid plywood as well (no particle board), which is rare in prefab cabinets. They also come with the finish already done, so you don't have to wait for your cabinets to get painted either-- big pro! Plus they're a fraction of the cost of custom cabinets. Link to cabinets can be found here.
Countertops: Granite style Persa White. We purchased these from Stone Showcase and Earthstone Countertops fabricated and installed them. We liked that with Stone Showcase you could go in and see all the different slabs and pick out your own. Earthstone was awesome to work with-- they did the cutout for the sink before they installed and then did the holes for the faucet on site after the install. Link to countertops can be found here.
Backsplash: MSI Capella Ivory Brick. We picked these out at MSI but then they had them in stock at Home Depot, so that's where we purchased them. We had them installed by Vlad at Timeless Custom Tile & Stone. We were nervous about doing something "different" with the brick, but love how it turned out! Link to backsplash here.
Sink: Kraus Bellucini Brown Granite (29 Inch). This sink was another one of my favorite picks of the kitchen. Since we went more simple and timeless with the cabinets, I wanted to do something a little different for the sink. Since the faucet was going to be brown, I thought the brown sink would be the perfect pairing (vs. black or stainless steel) and man am I glad we went that route. Plus, the sink came with multiple accessories that we use every day (e.g. the drying rack!) Link to sink here.
Faucet: Pfister Courant Bronze Bridge Faucet. I absolutely LOVE this faucet. I wanted something that had a rustic Italian vibe, and this was just that! Once I picked this out, I knew I had to go with the brown sink and love how they turned out! Plus I love the look of the brick behind it. Link to faucet here.
Hardware: Amerock Alison Value. We had an interesting situation with the hardware because I wanted pulls on the drawers and knobs on the door. We have a couple of drawers that are 30 in and then one drawer that's as small as 9 inches. So, we had to find pulls that would fit all the drawers. And because we went the brown route on the sink/faucet, I knew black would be too harsh for the pulls-- so antique bronze was the winner. So, amazon to the rescue! We did 2 pulls on the large drawers to accommodate the size-- I was nervous it was going to be weird, but think it turned out great! Links to knobs can be found here, links to pulls can be found here.
Appliances: GE from Lowes. We already had our refrigerator, so we only had to buy the stove, microwave and dishwasher. We bought all 3 from Lowe's. They had great reviews, great prices and Lowe's was running a deal with their credit card for 12 months of special financing. One thing I love about the dishwasher is that it has a third row! Open Shelving: Floating Shelves in Walnut. Since we had an open wall, we decided to do some simple open shelving. Post for open shelving decor can be found here. Link to open shelves can be found here (make sure NOT to use the hardware that comes with the shelves, just use these drywall screws instead).
